Pizza sMizza

This finicky freelance pizza/food critique reviews every slice of pizza pie sampled from every pizza parlor, independent or franchise, found while measuring the street of M-town in the western part of Illinois. As of Dec '06, she does Columbus, Ohio. She is contemplating to partner with her best friend, Jack, to open a franchise one day, somewhere. While she is more interested in owning a healthier fast food franchise, she agrees with him that this $34billion industry sh*t is pretty lucrative.

A strange phenomenon

I was on the phone with my best friend to discuss this project: sampling pizzas from all pizzerias in Macomb. We were wondering how many pizzerias are there, and I found from the Internet that there are up to 13 of them in this area alone. I was amused that for a town with a population of only 20,000 and about 13,000 total college students there are 13 pizza stores, independent and franchise, plus gas stations selling frozen pizza. It could be because many students come from the Chicago area, and I can guess that most likely these kids are hooked to eating pizza as a staple back there.

Whatever it is, it's a strange phenomenon, considering that Athens, with college students almost double in number than, and about the same, if not more, number of residents, there are only 10 pizza parlors, plus 2 in The Plains.
